Blogs From an Organizational Standpoint

Although it may not be overtly obvious at first, blogs can serve a purpose in the workplace. They present an easy, quick, and most importantly free way for employees to voice their opinion and provide suggestions and feedback. Given the ubiquity of internet connections in work environments today, blogs can be accessed at any point by anyone, making them an efficient way of keeping records of ideas and sharing concepts with anyone interested in reading them. This in itself poses a potential problem, however, seeing as how loss of privacy and identity theft can occur if bloggers do not properly protect themselves. Since anyone can sign up for a blog account, there is also the chance of spam, obscenities, and maliciousness being spread around needlessly. Despite a few setbacks, blogging should be used in organizations looking to save on money and storage space, as well as those striving to keep employees interconnected.
